As a family run business social value is an integral part of our projects and partnerships, we strive to make an impact beyond our core construction and demolition offer. In 2016 we founded our charity, the MGL Foundation Trust, which drives forward charitable initiatives.
We work hard to reinvest in the local area through philanthropic work and making a meaningful impact across the areas in which we deliver our core services. By supporting charities, local community not-for-profit initiatives and targeted causes we are helping to positively shape our region.
We get involved in fundraising and charity events throughout the year, this includes a dress-down Friday at Head Office, and all donations are matched by the company. Supporting initiatives and giving back to our communities to make a difference in people’s lives is something everyone is committed to.
From donations for local children who may not otherwise receive a Christmas present to providing new school uniforms at the start of term, we support disadvantaged children and young people to improve the lives of those who are most in need.
The MGL Foundation Trust provides much-needed support to local elderly residents. We support lunch clubs and social events, including our annual community Christmas party which gives local senior citizen’s a happy memory to take with them into the new year. We also provide hampers, prizes and donations throughout the year, driving our passion for social value and community wellbeing. With the average age of the population rising steadily we are committed to meeting the needs of older people in the North of England.
We recognise the value that veterans, serving personnel, reservists and military family members can contribute to our business as well as our country. We are proud to honour the Armed Forces Covenant, we received the Silver Award under the Ministry of Defence’s National Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) highlighting our commitment to supporting former service personnel as they transition into civilian life.
By supporting local sports clubs, teams and organisations of all age groups and abilities we encourage healthy living, wellbeing and the development of sport in our region.
We want to provide young people from local schools and colleges with the tools to progress a career in the construction industry. By delivering engaging programmes for all ages we help to raise student’s aspirations, develop their employability skills and provide the opportunity for a mock interview.
Leaving a lasting legacy in the communities in which we work is very important to us. The MGL Foundation Trust was established to enable us to support local charities, children, the elderly and veterans and to promote sport and education within the North East of England.
We are proud to support worthwhile causes and contribute to the long-term health and wellbeing of our local community and the people in it. Since inception, the Trust has generated funds for local community groups, including donations for two minibuses for local disabled children.
