MGL Foundation Trust supports Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care

We are delighted to announce our support for the incredible work that Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care does in our region through a £10,000 donation from the MGL Foundation Trust.

The charity provides a vital service, assisting 50,000 North East cancer patients annually with free transportation to and from hospitals for treatment. This service ensures patients are collected and transported safely and comfortably from their homes to their treatment facilities. If needed, a volunteer companion accompanies the patient during Chemotherapy and/or Radiotherapy sessions. Patients are then returned to their homes, prepared for their next course of treatment.

With a fleet of ambulances, all of which have been adopted by primary schools from across the region, and a dedicated team of volunteers, the charity fulfills its mission to support those in need.

Daft as a Brush is highly regarded in our community and holds a special place in our hearts. Our Chairman Alan Davison’s longstanding friendship with founder Brian Burnie has fostered a shared commitment to charitable initiatives.

Through our donation, which we handed over at our Headquarters, Davison House, we aim to support this remarkable charity to extend its reach, helping even more cancer patients attend their medical appointments.
