World Alzheimer’s Month is a global opportunity to raise awareness, educate, encourage support of and demystify dementia.
This year’s theme is Know dementia, know Alzheimer’s with a special focus on post-diagnosis support. We’re encouraging everyone to know the signs and symptoms of dementia so they can get the right diagnosis and support as quickly as possible.
Alzheimer’s Society is a United Kingdom care and research charity for people with dementia and their carers. Their website has lots of information to help people before, during and after a dementia diagnosis. Including dementia publications and resources in different formats, including summarised and simplified information. There are also guides, factsheets and booklets that give a general overview of a range of topics.
Globally, dementia is one of the biggest challenges we face, with nearly 50 million people living with dementia worldwide. To tackle this international dementia challenge, we need to work together and share best practice with one another.
