Members of the Rainton Construction team working on the SeAH Wind project had the opportunity to meet with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen. The team discussed their role in delivering the new monopile factory in Teesside and their involvement in this record-breaking facility.
Rainton Construction is a trade contractor working with K2 Construction Management’s project delivery team at SeAH Wind’s offshore monopile manufacturing facility. It is responsible for delivering a comprehensive Civil Engineering package for the new facility at South Bank on part of the Teesworks site.
The package predominantly includes heavy industrial reinforced concrete (RC) foundations, structures, and slabs where single concrete pours of over 1000m³ are a regular occurrence. Other works include utilities, drainage, surfacing works, earthworks, material management, and the infrastructure and enabling works for three site-based concrete batching plants and a site compound for over 1,000 workers. A piling attendance service for 18 Piling Rigs, which operated concurrently, was also provided.
The 800-metre-long building will be the world’s biggest monopile facility and the first of its kind in the UK.
Rainton Construction is proud to be part of this complex project, which is a game-changer for renewable energy and will create thousands of jobs in the region.
