Moving More for Mental Health Awareness Week!

At MGL Group, we proritise health, safety and wellbeing. This year, Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from 13 to 19 May and focuses on Movement: Moving More for Your Mental Health.

The Mental Health Foundation, in partnership with England footballer Harry Kane, is promoting Moments for Movement. This initiative encourages everyone to incorporate gentle exercise into their daily routines to improve their mental wellbeing.

Simple ways to get moving:

  1. Leave your car at home if you are making a short journey
  2. When using public transport, get off the bus a stop earlier
  3. Make use of ‘green’ spaces when moving, as these have greater mental benefits than moving indoors
  4. If you work at a desk, make time in your schedule to get up and move around or even complete gentle chair stretches and exercises
  5. Set small, achievable movement goals
  6. Connect with others when exercising, for example, walking in the park with a friend or relative
