MGL Sponsored Catterick Garrison's season ends unbeaten

MGL Group-sponsored team Catterick Garrison Football Centre’s Under 8s have wrapped up a fantastic 2025/26 season, full of great football, teamwork and plenty of smiles.

Playing in the Hambleton and Richmondshire Junior Football League, which gives young players the chance to learn and enjoy the game, the team has enjoyed an incredible run of results. Although scores aren’t officially recorded at this age, the team went the entire league season unbeaten, a brilliant achievement that shows how well they’ve developed as a team.

Managed by the husband-and-wife team Sophie and Syd Murphy, the team has thrived in a supportive, encouraging environment. Their focus has always been to help the boys enjoy their football, build confidence and improve week on week.

The team also reached a cup final, narrowly missing out on the trophy after a 2–0 defeat. Despite the loss, reaching the final was a major milestone and a great moment for the whole squad.

A highlight of the season was their trip to Butlins in Skegness for a tournament. Sophie went above and beyond to make it special, organising new tracksuits, bags and water bottles for the team. Looking the part and feeling like a proper team, the boys proudly wore their home and away kits featuring the MGL Group logo.
