MGL Group's role in bringing passenger trains back to Northumberland

MGL Group supported the safe and successful installation of a rail crossing point, providing access to a landlocked stretch of land as part of the Northumberland Line Project.

Rainton Construction and MGL Earthworks are working with Morgan Sindall Infrastructure to deliver the earthworks for the new train station platforms during possession on weekends and mid-week nights. We are playing an important role in delivering this project, and our unwavering commitment to safety and precision is paving the way for progress, innovation, and a seamless journey towards a connected future.

The Northumberland Line project aims to reintroduce regular passenger services between Ashington and Newcastle, offering trains every 30 minutes. This initiative will benefit local residents by reducing journey times and providing them with improved access to employment, education, and business opportunities.

We are proud to be part of this vital scheme to for communities in the North East of England. The new stations will be crucial in enhancing connectivity and promoting growth.
