MGL Earthworks is part of the Northumberland Line project team

MGL Earthworks is working on the Morgan Sindall Infrastructure Northumberland Rail Line project at Palmersville Underpass. This is part of the new framework contract with Northumberland County Council to build six new stations and new railway infrastructure.

Supporting specialist contractor Pod-Track, MGL we are carrying out Bulk Earthworks to enable the installation of pre-cast units to form a pedestrian underpass beneath the railway. The team has undertaken topsoil strip works and is progressing the 110m long SPMT ramp for the unit installation.

The County Council is working with the Department for Transport, Network Rail and Northern Trains Ltd on the ambitious programme to reintroduce regular passenger trains between Ashington and Newcastle by 2024.
