MGL Demolition has successfully completed a major asbestos removal programme at the Golden Eagle Hotel in Thornaby, Stockton-on-tees, marking a significant milestone in the site’s redevelopment.
This commercial asbestos removal project involved removing 470 tonnes of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) from the building, making it one of the most challenging asbestos remediation projects ever undertaken in the North East.
Working to strict industry regulations and safety standards, MGL Demolition drew on extensive experience managing and removing hazardous materials from complex structures.
The completion of the removal phase clears the way for the next stage of works, with demolition now underway. The building, which has stood vacant for many years, will be carefully dismantled as the project progresses. The successful delivery of the licensed asbestos removal works further demonstrates MGL Demolition’s capability to undertake large-scale, technically demanding projects, supporting the safe regeneration of challenging sites across the region.
