Founded in 1971 by Alan and Sheila Davison, MGL Group began with just one employee and a second-hand caravan, delivering small civil engineering projects. Today, we’re proud to be one of the region’s largest privately-owned construction companies.

Our success is built on two key foundations: our heritage and our people. As a proud, family-owned business, our shared values genuinely underpin everything we do. With a talented and dedicated team of over 500, we operate across the North of England, the Scottish Borders, and beyond, delivering a diverse range of impactful projects that reshape the built environment.

Leading the way in sustainable innovation, we’re adopting advanced recycling techniques and circular economy principles. This includes incorporating end-of-life plastic into our asphalt and transforming soil-bound construction waste into high-quality recycled aggregates and premium washed sand. Across all our operations, we remain committed to reducing carbon emissions.
