MGL Group is proud to be part of the delivery team for the new Durham Investigative Hub for Durham Constabulary. Bulk excavation has been carried out by MGL Earthworks and the foundations and drainage is being undertaken by Rainton Construction.
A key focus for the project is to maximise social value from the build, including the creation of new sustainable jobs, work placement and apprentice opportunities, that all provide long-term benefits for the local community.
The project team has already exceeded the majority of their initial social value targets, with more than £10million spent with local County Durham based businesses. It has also created new employment and work experience placements. The team has also volunteered over 150 hours with local charities including DASH and St Cuthbert’s Hospice.
To celebrate the project’s fantastic social value achievements our Business Development Director, Simon Martin, visited the site with other key stakeholders including Police and Crime Commissioner for County Durham and Darlington, Joy Allen, as well as representatives from Durham Constabulary, and local businesses and charities.
The outstanding new facility is already providing benefits to the local community, long before the project’s completion.
