Blasting Whinstone at Longhoughton Quarry

We safely and efficiently blasted 23,300 tonnes of Limestone at Longhoughton Quarry. The material will be crushed into high-quality aggregate.

Last month 14,498 tonnes of Whinstone was blasted using 4,987 kg of explosives. To minimise the vibration, the holes were double decked with two detonators and boosters.

Our operations work within blasting parameters to meet all relevant restrictions and are monitored at every stage.
