MGL Group was proud to support the recent Durham & Chester-Le-Street School Sport Partnership Day at Beamish Museum, which brought together schools from across the local area for a day of activity, teamwork and fun.
Organised by the Durham & Chester-Le-Street School Sport Partnership, the event forms part of a wider programme to engage young people in sport and physical activity. Working with schools across Durham City and Chester-Le-Street, the partnership creates opportunities for pupils to take part in competitions, festivals and activities throughout the year, helping to promote the importance of staying active from a young age.
As a company based in County Durham, MGL Group is committed to supporting the communities where it operates. Part of that commitment involves working with local schools and organisations to inspire the next generation, whether through education, sport or wider engagement. Supporting local partnerships like this is central to that approach and helps create opportunities with real and lasting impact across the region.
On the day, pupils took part in a range of inclusive, sports-based activities that encouraged them to get moving, try something new, and enjoy being active alongside their friends. The focus wasn’t just on performance but on participation, giving every child the chance to get involved, build confidence, and develop teamwork skills in a fun, supportive environment. The day’s positive impact was clear, with schools reflecting on the experience as one filled with “sunshine, smiles, resilience and amazing sportsmanship”, while others highlighted pupils’ “effort, enthusiasm and pride” throughout the activities.
MGL Group’s sponsorship helped fund the event and ensured that as many schools and pupils as possible could take part. By supporting events like this, we help create positive experiences for young people and encourage them to develop healthy habits and a lasting enjoyment of physical activity.
We would like to thank the organisers, teachers and volunteers who made the event possible, as well as the schools and pupils who helped make the day so positive and energetic. We look forward to continuing our support for initiatives that bring communities together, promote active lifestyles and inspire young people across the area.
