Lumiere, the UK’s flagship light art biennial, returns to Durham from 13–15 November 2025. Since its launch in 2009, it has welcomed over 1.3 million visitors to our city and generated more than £43 million for the local economy. It’s a celebration of creativity that transforms Durham’s iconic heritage sites into breathtaking light installations.
Volunteers are at the heart of Lumiere. By sponsoring the volunteering scheme, we’re helping to ensure that Durham continues to shine as a cultural landmark, welcoming visitors from near and far to experience the very best our city has to offer.
