MGL Group Triumphs at CENE Awards with Two Award Wins

We are thrilled to announce that MGL Group won the prestigious Innovation and Climate Action categories at the Constructing Excellence in the North East (CENE) Awards. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to pioneering sustainable asphalt solutions and decarbonising the built environment.

The Innovation category award highlights our dedication to developing cutting-edge technologies and solutions that drive progress and efficiency in our industry. The judges highlighted our pioneering net zero asphalt, developed in partnership with Durham County Council and Low Carbon Materials (LCM), and Hazgrip®, our anti-skid asphalt designed to enhance road safety, setting us apart as leaders in innovation.

Winning the Climate Action category underscores our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. We have implemented numerous initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint and promote responsible practices. This award reflects our efforts to tackle climate change and deliver a positive impact by providing improved environmental performance and outcomes.

We had a fantastic evening at the Grand Hotel Gosforth Park, Newcastle, celebrating our industry with over 500 members of the North East built environment. We thank the CENE team for organising the event and our incredible team for their hard work and dedication.
