Demolition Site Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our Demolition team on a fixed-term basis. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role will involve working as part of a team refurbishing the Northbound Tyne Tunnel. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing and supervising our direct employees and subcontractors.

A fundamental part of the role will be managing the day-to-day Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality, of works being undertaken and completing relevant site paperwork. This will include the completion of ITP documents throughout the various phases of work along with ordering and receiving plant and materials.

The majority of the work will take place over a weekend, working on a rota system with other Site Managers. All applicants should hold qualifications relevant to the position being applied for. A CSCS / CCDO card is essential, experience in working within this environment is beneficial but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure works are carried out in line with agreed Method and Methodology
  • Supervision of site operatives, and subcontractors ensuring processes and management systems are fully communicated and adhered too
  • Ensure the correct documentation is held on site
  • Ensure works are completed on time and to specification
  • Aiding the early identification and notification of contract variances
  • Proactively and positively promote Health & Safety at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in the role being applied for
  • Applicants holding additional certification, such as SMSTS, Temporary Works and First Aid at Work will be at an advantage
  • Experience in the day-to-day monitoring and documentation of both strip out operations
  • A good understanding of re- fit and installation of new components within the tunnel
