Auckland Castle
The Castle Curtilage Works project was part of the redevelopment of Auckland Castle and was carried out for Auckland Castle Trust (ACT), which worked in Partnership with renowned Landscape Architect Pip Morrison.
As Principal Contractor, RCL successfully managed and self-delivered a range of services on the castle approach roads, footpaths, garden areas and also included a bowling green refurbishment.
Scope of works
- Hard & Soft Landscaping
- Earthworks
- Ducting
- Utilities
- Drainage
All works were carried out whilst working closely with Pip Morrison and ACT which included design development and adopting a flexible approach whilst coordinating our work along with other live projects within the overall ACT scheme. The project was handed over on time and within budget.
Through an excellent working relationship, this project was one of many within the grounds of Auckland Castle that Rainton Construction Limited have carried out.
We were proud to be part of this exciting project to re-instate some of the vistas that have been lost over the centuries, and establish accessible gardens, each with their own character and routes that are easily navigable for all visitors and also revitalise the 1,000-year-old Auckland Castle gardens and make them more accessible for centuries to come.
