Teesside Airport Business Park Access Road
Project Overview
Rainton Construction, supported by MGL Earthworks, constructed a 2 km-long access road for Business Park South at Teesside International Airport. The project involved bulk earthworks and civil engineering to prepare the site for development.
This vital infrastructure project will unlock the region’s potential and create a thriving business hub. The new road, which includes a footpath and cycleway, will improve accessibility.
Challenges
One of the primary challenges encountered during the project was the poor geotechnical conditions of the ground. Additionally, the team faced adverse weather conditions, including heavy rainfall and snowfall. To mitigate these challenges, our experienced team implemented a strategic approach. Work schedules were adjusted to accommodate the weather conditions, and effective water management techniques were employed to protect the integrity of the earthworks materials and minimise delays.
Summary
The completion of the link marks a significant milestone in the airport’s development programme. The business park will create thousands of jobs and stimulate economic growth.
Rainton Construction is proud to have played a key role in this transformative project, demonstrating our commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions.
