MGL Group’s dedicated Social Value team recently hosted a group of Year 10 students from Engage Durham. The session was made possible through the group’s collaboration with Durham Works. This initiative champions inclusivity and helps 16 to 24-year-olds who live in County Durham get into education, employment, or training.
During the session, the team provided valuable insights into the world of construction, giving the students a sneak peek into civil engineering and demolition and hopefully inspiring future careers.
Sara Beveridge, Group Business Administrator, said, “It was an absolute pleasure to host the students from Engage Durham and provide them with insights. We hope this session sparked their curiosity and inspired them to consider a career in the industry.
Amanda Leslie, Durham Works Workplaces Project Coach, praised the session, saying, “Students enjoyed their time at MGL Group, and it helped them to stay open-minded to other career opportunities. Visits like this help to give invaluable insights into different organisations, allowing them to make some important choices on their career options.”
Here’s to building a better future, one session at a time!
