Due to continued growth and investment, we have a new and exciting opportunity for a General Quarry Operative to join our Team based at Tynedale Roadstone Limited’s Barton site, Barton Quarry Industrial Estate, Barton, Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL10 6NF, on a full-time, permanent basis.

Key responsibilities
- Operating and maintaining quarry machinery and equipment
- Assisting with the extraction and processing of materials
- Carrying out routine inspections and basic maintenance tasks
- Greasing and lubricating machinery as part of regular maintenance schedules
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations
- Keeping work areas clean and tidy
- Supporting other team members as required
- General labouring duties including manual handling, site preparation, and assisting trades or machine operators
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment
- Assisting with basic repairs and site upkeep
Requirements
- Previous experience in a quarry, construction, or similar environment (preferred but not essential)
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Awareness of health and safety practices (or willingness to learn)
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including early starts if required
- Basic mechanical knowledge or willingness to learn maintenance tasks (e.g. greasing machinery)
- Positive attitude and willingness to take on a variety of duties
About the job
- Various shift patterns: Monday – Friday 7:00–17:00, Saturday 7:00-13:00 as required
