Sustainable approach to high quality asphalt products

Tynedale Roadstone is highly experienced in the production and supply of bituminous macadams and asphalts, operating from our two production plants, one being a 12-acre mixed-use site located at Newburn Haugh Industrial Estate, Newcastle upon Tyne and the second at Barton, North Yorkshire.

Our asphalt products are suitable for any application, including footways, landscape areas and multi-use games pitches. Heavy duty asphalts are used for industrial pavements in port facilities, industrial estates and on HGV hard standings, including housing.

Our products are produced in accordance with our quality system and the relevant British Standards or proprietary specifications, including the requirements of National Highways England. All materials are available for purchase by third parties.

Longhoughton Quarry

The quarry in Alnwick, Northumberland has worked for over 100 years with reserves of whinstone, limestone and shale. It is operated by our service division, KWP. We blast rock which is processed to produce a wide range of construction materials for use on projects across the region. All materials are available purchase via Tynedale Roadstone.

Coated Roadstone Supplier

As a leading supplier of innovative surfacing materials our high-quality solutions have been developed to cover a wide range of surfacing applications. Products are available for collection or delivery.

Warm Mix & Low Carbon Asphalts

We have the capacity for the addition of up to 30% Recycled Asphalt (RAP) into many of our products. All materials are developed in line with the specification for Highway Works.

Our latest product innovation is Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA), through the use of a binder additive. Allowing us to reduce our finished product temperatures by up to 50°C, therefore reducing our carbon footprint and fuel usage.

Asphalt Production

We work to the highest standards of quality, safety and sustainability to produce innovative asphalt products for all surfacing requirements. Our facilities are capable of producing in excess of 4000 tonnes of material per day with hot storage facility of over 350 tonnes.

Plastipave^® Asphalt Products

Our Plastipave products provide a long-term, cost-effective, and sustainable asphalt solution for end of use waste streams. By incorporating plastic and tyre crumb waste into mixed asphalt products we can reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a circular economy as those materials are then fed back into the local road network from rural carriageways to the high-speed network.
